About us
Over 80% of all food for dogs and cats in the Netherlands is marketed by members of the NVG
NVG stands for healthy and safe pet food, through balanced guidelines and self-regulation. We have been the trade association for manufacturers and importers of pet food in the Netherlands since 1972 and represent the common business interests of our members.
We represent a responsible sector that meets the highest hygiene, safety and quality standards. Our members produce high-quality pet food that makes a significant contribution to the health and well-being of our pets.
NVG is an association that is managed by its members. The members of NVG not only produce dog and cat food, but also food for other pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and birds.
The right conditions
NVG represents the Dutch pet food industry in discussions with the government, control authorities, science and other stakeholders to create the right conditions for good, safe and sustainable pet food .
In addition, we are committed to responsible pet ownership. We stand for the well-being of pets and the important role pets play in our society.
